Alkirin
Alkirin Lenoir Delacroix de Dzemael
The Black Mage
"Black Magic? Don't be ridiculous.. it is not wise to dabble in work so dangerous and taboo."
No hands, but the skilled.
No eyes, but the learned.
Alkirin practices Advanced Thaumatology in pursuit of his scholarly interest in the history of magic (the legacies of Amdapor and Mach, in particular); hailing from an era were voidisent were less heretical than dragons. This pursuit of dangerous power has fostered an sense of elitism regarding other paths (in belonging to the exclusive club of 'didn't kill yourself').
Being it's counterpart, he has practical knowledge of conjury, though his principal focus rests with the so-called Dark Art. He bears an academic knowledge of other paths, but does not regard them as highly; an appreciation for making magic more accessible, but a far cry from true talent.
The Noble
"..Beloved, I AM being nice."
A pariah, known for eschewing the duties of his title in favor of gallivanting about in.. ill suited company - in particular, a mercenary group that he worked too closely with during the Dragonsong War. Characteristic of his house, Alkirin is an artisan of no small measure - or wealth. Enough wealth and talent to avoid the consequence of abdicating his duties.
In recent times, he has taken a turn toward attending his responsibilities, with a token effort to rehabilitate his image. This, in light of his marriage and return to Ishgard.
The Pirate
Archaeological Requisitions
"Bring me that horizon.."
Until recently, Alkirin was primarily known for his service as a privateer within the Maelstrom, whose exploits would often take him the world-over. In those years before the world at large learned who he was, at least.
At present, he is the patron of the magical antique shop, Arcana Obscura. While he still takes matters into his own hands on occasion, he now mostly lives vicariously through the exploits of his clients.
Such is the new adventure adhead of him: family life.
The Ties that Bind
"For what force on earth is weaker than the feeble strength of one?"
The Beloved: Raine Endarin
The Requisition: Arcana Obscura
The Community: For the Sky
The Aristocrats
"Well I thought it was funny."
House Dzemael represent.
Alkirin uses coded language when speaking about his work in public, referring to his 'craft' and other 'artisans' who practice it.
Had absolutely nothing to do with Dzemael Darkhold.
